Introduction

In this video for 3ds max, we’ll continue talking about the Planet death series. This time we’ll start planning and working at various particles and fluid passes to add more FX layers before we’ll start to break the planet.

What we’ll do in Part 4

In Part 4 of Planet death series, we’ll start working with FumeFX to prepare our 1st FX layer. We’ll see how to start planning and preparing basic setup to control a flame layer following the ray fx over the planet surface. To prepare it, we’ll use Particle Flow to add particles following one of the gradient ramp mask used in Part 3 to add plasma energy expanding over the planet. So we’ll tweak it to have a good amount of particles and we’ll start to tweak a basic FumeFX setup to be able to work at look development on Part 5.

    I just finished up this tutorial series, and I love it so much! Definitely one of my favorites ever, thank you so much for making it! Any idea when you will be releasing the rest of the parts after part 4? I can’t wait to see the rest! :)

      Hi, thanks for your comment. We’ll release new parts really soon, and then we’ll move on new and more complex series ;)

      Hi Kirk, thanks. Sure it will be finished, we have to close some simpler tutorial series and then we’ll be back on it too.
