Introduction

In this video for 3ds max we’ll continue talking about Ornatrix plug-in from Ephere, tryng to take a look at a new introduction tip to create a simple grass setup.

What we’ll see

In this tutorial we’ll start to take a look at some Ornatrix features to create a simple grass setup. We’ll use the basic features to add the Hair modifiers to a simple terrain mesh created using a plane primitive with a noise modifier. Then we’ll see how to change hair lenght, and look using some modifiers and internal rendering parameters. We’ll try to render it using standard shaders, Ornatrix shaders, trying to understand which are the main differencies. At the end we’ll see how to conver the hair setup to standard mesh and how to render it with the Scanline renderer.
