In this tutorial for 3ds max we’ll start working at a new scene to simulate a waterfall. We’ll prepare a basic particle setup in PFlow to simulate water falling down and collision with rocks and the water plane using Krakatoa collisions and some spawning events with PFlow, then we’ll start to prepare general water look using Krakatoa parameters.

this would not be a real flow project?
Hi Gustavo,
thanks for posting. Soon we’ll release a Realflow tutorial series starting from basic to advanced topics. We planned some tutorials for 3ds max to see how we can solve some fluid related problems just using basic feature set. That’s why we are using PFlow for it, I think this is a useful way to know how you can approach to some specific problems when you have no way to use external software to solve it.
=D excited about realflow project-based tutorials.
Glad to hear you are interested in it. We’ll prepare really interesting stuffs for Realflow and 3ds max…stay tuned for it
Thanks yet again for more krakatoa tutorials, can’t wait to check out part 2!

Hey, nice tut,
But I have a problem,
My Krakatoa Colision did not colide with the planes,
What should I do?
Hi Roger, thanks for following us. I think you can have a problems with face normal. Try to use a shell modifier on the planes, so we can be sure this is the issue you have. If you have still problems with it, you can send me the scene at [email protected] so I can check it directly.
thanks thanks thanks you saved my life
