In this video tutorial for 3ds max we’ll continue talking about Dreamscape plug-in. This time we’ll take a look on how the object interaction dynamic works, we’ll use the Dynamic Daemons to control a sphere falling down inside the water and we’ll see how the various parameters can change the final result. We’ll see how to simulate the foam due to the object impact over the sea surface, how to render it using the Dreamscape shader and how to change its look using some procedural maps to control the density map.

Fantastic tutorial, thank you very much for posting!
One question:
Im making a simple scene in dreamscape, where I want waves to react with pillars in the water (and to create foam)
I have made the pillars Unyielding but the waves look like they just pass through the pillars and don’t react at all? Am I doing anything wrong? I would really appreciate any help!
Hi Henry, thanks, can you send me the scene at a.cangelosi@cgcookie.com ? I’m a little bit busy these days but I’ll try to give it a look as soon as I can
