In this new tip tutorial for 3ds max, we’ll see a really simple way to create a 3D text with a neon style in rendering. We’ll use text spline to prepare the basic 2D shape, then we’ll use its render parameters to create the 3D meshes direcly without any other modifier. Next step will be adding a simple self illuminated material with the preferred diffuse color. To finalize it we’ll need to add a Lens Effect layer to the scene, that will add two glow post processing effects over the image using the G-Buffer ID to pick the right
mesh.
