A new tutorial talking about lighting setup in 3ds max from Max Cookie. This time we’ll see how we can create custom shaped light sources, using simple meshes and adding an Arch&Design shader to it to render the scene with Mental Ray. We’ll see how to use the self illumination channel changing color temperature, luminance parameters, using custom procedural maps to
control look for a neon tube example, and then we’ll see it in action using Final Gather and some post processing effects as Glare shader.

Thanks a million!! You guys have completely changed my Mental Ray experience. From being completely frustrated with what I know can be done and not managing to even get close after months of playing around. I have now watched all the available tutorials you have and by far you have the best tutorials and learning materials I have ever come across. Easy to follow and very very useful!!
