In this tutorial we’ll talk about MR Sky/Sun, and we see how to use it to illuminate in a realistic way an exterior scene using a character picked from the 3ds max 2010 Samples DVD. We’ll go in depth looking for all the parameters to obtain different environment conditions just using MR Sky setup.

    Hello Alessandro,

Long time since you uploaded this one. But still working in 2012…very usefull. Can I ask you for more tuts about using maps in the environment? How can I use the sky maps from cgcookie, uploaded last week?

    Thanks, Joost

Hi Joost, thanks for your comment, and thanks for your suggestion, I’ll prepare something like that, but we can say in a really simple way that you can use the sky maps coming from CGCookie as environmental/reflection, or as IBL image for skylight, or as simple background, etc etc
