It has been a long time coming, but I am proud to finally give the 3D Studio Max users out there a place of their own.
Max Cookie is an off-spring of our parent site CG Cookie. With our education on 3D Studio Max growing each week we felt it deserved it’s very own home. Wes Burke, founder of CG Cookie , Blender Cookie and Mavenseed has had the pleasure of working with Alessandro Cangelosi, respected CG artist whom as worked on films such as 2012 and popular 360 and PS3 game titles.
Max Cookie is a site dedicated to supplying consistent, high quality, max education materials produced by industry professionals from around the globe. By offering high resolution streaming videos, written education, developer interviews and featured resources, we aim to be a central hub for max education.
One click to view the video
On Cg Cookie you had to click and read the post and then click the post to read the page that contained the video. Believe it or not this was not intentional to obtain more clicks. We were able to solve this formatting issue with Max Cookie’s CMS.
What do we have planned for this site.
We were so anxious to get the site in front of you, that what we are presenting is the foundation or platform. We have a few features and sections that we are still boarding up and will be added on soon. If anything we prepared Max Cookie to accept growth.
- Consistent, clear postings of 3D Studio Max training from our industry professionals
- Offer free community content such as models, textures or reference photos
- More exclusives, more bundles, more site features
Our hopes and dreams.
Of course when we start a new project we have some pie in the sky ideas on where we would like to see it go, but in reality we can only set up a few bumpers and nudge it from time to time.
- To represent Max Cookie at world-wide 3D Studio Max events and gatherings.
- To have a office building in the city where we can pear out at the lake while sipping energy drinks
- To become a positive discussion topic at 3D Studio Max gatherings.
Whats going to happen to the posts on CG Cookie?
Over the next few days we will be working to create custom redirects from CG Cookie to the specific posts here on Max Cookie. So you shouldn’t initially have to update your bookmarks on specific tutorials, unless you want to feel all up to date. We will still be featuring some of the activity here from Max Cookie back on CG Cookie to ensure Blender is still showcased on CG Cookie.
Over the next few weeks/months Cg Cookie will be transitioning to more of our company headquarter site. This site will have featured posts from each of our sites and serve as a growth point for us going forward.

Any chance for a maya.cgcookie.com???
I would love to pursue that, and we are looking for Maya instructors.:)
How’s progress on finding Maya instructors? Besides what happen the previous content you have the site before. Do you have any links to those tutorials which was published or reposted on cgcookies?
Thank you,
Whimsy Collective
Hello!
It is admittedly going pretty slow, but I am always looking for good authors for it.
We are working on a new 3.0 version of the Cg Cookie sites that will have some of the old content, but much of the previous Maya tuts were submitted to us and not of our own “staff creation”. Going forward we are mainly publishing tuts by the CGC Crew. But always looking to expand the CGC crew.
congrats on the new launch
I hope you don’t consider it stalking but it is good to see the clear, easy understand, openness of the cookie clan now on 3ds Max
We are happy you like the way we are following for 3ds max too. Thanks !
Any chance of a Max top tip tutorial on how to attach ‘controllers’,'modifiers’ to a biped. I see them on lots of rigs but can’t find anything as to how to attach/link/bind or whatever it is!
I would like ‘controllers’ to move the rig whilst the rig is hidden.
Please help
Frustrated

You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
