In this Friday Citizen Exclusive we go through the first half of the 4 part tutorials in creating a chibi style character. In the first part, we go through sketching and creating a line-art on top. In the second part we go through laying down the base colors and the shading. *In the download source files link both part 1 and 2 are inside.
PART ONE IS ABOVE ↑ AND PART TWO IS BELOW ↓ AND PART THREE IS BELOW, BELOW ↓
Next Friday we will release the second half going through creating a set of chibi characters, reusing certains areas and going through putting them together in a scene.
You must be citizen to view part 2 below

Totally awesome, can’t wait to watch it.

You are correct sir, and while it’s not my everyday attire, when I’m ready to slay some demons that’s when I suit up in the ol’ armor and kiwi green cape.
When will part three be available for download?
Part three is available for download, it is now packaged with part 1 and 2.
Hiya,
Great stuff! I really like this. I have two questions … No, ignore that. I have one remark and one question.
The remark is: the third video seems to be missing from the download pack. I unpacked it twice, but still no third video … which seems a little un-Cookie-like.
The question is: Tim, would you mind if I use your designs as a concept for a modelling exercise? I’m getting into character modelling and I really need good concepts.
) I promise I’ll cut you in!
If I make a fortune with my modelling efforts (one can hope
PS: no, I didn’t spell “modelling” wrong. I speak “British” English
The third video download was sort of hidden in the description, but now it is packed with parts 1 and 2 as well, sorry about the confusion.
We would be honored to if you used our concepts and feel free to use the chibis for your models, the only request that If you do, can you give credit back to CG Cookie as well as show us the results
Thank you!
If I manage to create something which is fit to show to the world at large, I will of course give you credit and send you the render and/or link.
wow you know hirigana… I’m trying to do the katakana alphabet in anime characters, this will be great help, thanks
Did you use the pen tablet?
I did indeed, I am currently working on a wacom intuos 4 tablet.
Very non-manga hair style on a chibi character but looks fitting. Nice work. Loved the video and useful tips throughout. Going to watch the rest now.
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the tutorials!
I’m guessing that your using a drawing tablet. Ya, with a computer mouse it didn’t turn out so good.
Yeah, I use a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet, it’s very tough for me to use a mouse
