As of today we have two big announcements… Concept Cookie is now live and we have a new gallery system!
Concept Cookie is Alive
We have been talking this site for a long time and we are thrilled to finally get it off the ground! With help of our fellow artists and friends, Tim Von Rueden and Nubia Palacios we are launching Concept Cookie today as a dedicated resource for concept and digital art tutorials. Concept art is a huge aspect of digital art, game development, visual effects, and of course the film industry. For this reason we felt these kind of tutorials really deserved a home of their own.
Our hope is that this site will grow into a rich deposit of concept art tutorials, resources and a gallery of community artwork. With your help it can happen! Alongside Concept Cookie, we have also launched a dedicated Twitter and Facebook page for Concept Cookie. Follow us on Twitter and Like us on Facebook!
With the new site going live, we are also looking for some well motivated concept art instructors. If you are interested in producing concept art tutorials we have our application here.
New Feature: Gallery Update.
It wasn’t long after we launched the new 3.0 site that we started to see a flood of images being submitted on tutorials. Admittedly some of these were not related to the tutorial, but we sensed that artists wanted a place to show off what the software can do, and spread it around. So, a few weeks later, some late nights and dancing with a bit of logic. We are please to announce the new “Network Gallery” feature to Cg Cookie. Give it a look and we think you will like it. Of course if you don’t like it shoot us a note via support(at)cgcookie.com on how we can improve it or other features to add. I assure you the functionality of the site and this particular feature will continue to grow as the site does… enabled by you.
Wait.. aren’t you guys pretty darn swamped with the existing sites and studio?

Wes and Jonathan are hoping to see their families soon. So this is why we brought on Tim Von Rueden as the Site Lead for Concept Cookie. Tim will be heading up the main site, comments, posts and making sure some sexy Conception is happening.

Just a few questions Jonathan. When I upload a couple of images to the gallery the first one appears, but the second one takes a day or so to appear? also will you be increasing the pixel size of the upload, its set at 1600 pixels, I take it that means 1000 x 600 is the maximum size? shame you coundn’t increase it to 1280 x 720 -just a thought

Just wanted to say Thank You for the two new additions! You and the rest of the Guys, at CG Cookie, are doing a GREAT job with the sites. Sure hope that the Blender folks across the pond are takeing note of your efforts.
In any case, it is refreshing, to an old man (67), to see our youth of today be so sucessful. What you folks have accomplished in the last couple of years is very impressive and I, for one, take my hat off and salute you all!
Please, all of you, keep up the good work. With your drive and work ethic the sky’s are the limit.
