Beautiful! I love the colors. I suppose you made the flowers too? What kind of compositing did you do? Did you use the defocus node to make it look blurry st the back?
Thanks! The flowers were also done in blender. I rendered the wings and some dust particles separatly, so the post processing was to combine the renders, adding motion blur to the wings, lens flare, some color correction and grain. The bokeh effect was achieved with cycles depth of field.

yep! I made the image just for that!
good luck then!
Really great image. The background was well done in my opinion.
This is an incredible image! It’s like a mix between photo-realism and and abstract art
Absolutely beautiful!
It’s great, everything, models, textures, lighting.. I’m just not a big fan of that lens flare but that is just a question of taste, not quality.
From what I saw of the entries in the competition, this one has good chance to win, but others are very good too
Awesome stuff! Good luck on the competition!
Awesome! Can you make a tutorial on how to do this scene.
If your using Linux, it should be easy to follow my tutorial here.

Stunning work good sir! You may have wanted it this way but I’ll point it out just in case…he appears to missing his antenna.
Fantastic work, and best of luck to you in the contest!
Thanks to everybody!
@jeng yes, you are right! I think the antennae are still waiting in layer 6 or 7… hahaha
How did you do the blur? It looks like the backdrop is a watercolor painting.
Awesome lighting effects used on this render:D, great job! ~Royall
