Here is my result. I did this based on a photo using “The Blender Camera Calibration Toolkit” addon to allign the camera with the photo reference and following Jonathan Williamson tutorial. Hope you like it. Please comment. Cheers!

very nice! (i think it looks even nicer than the tutorial’s result, personally :) hope i’m not out of place in giving a critique, but if had only one, it would be that i feel the colors are a little too warm, given that the room looks like it’s only lit by sun/sky, instead of interior lighting. usually a room lit only by sun and sky light will be slightly cooler than a room lit predominantly by interior lighting.

if i’m wrong about the lighting, then never mind! or if you used a reference and the reference actually looks like this, then never mind again! :)

      You’re right..

I checked the reference photo and it is blueish.
I will change that later, just waiting for more opinions.

Thank you very much for your critique.

This is an excellent render! It looks like a photograph. =) Did you use Cycles?

      Yeps..

      Cycles.

2200 samples = 8 hours for the main layer.. (slow cpu render in a slow MacBook White!)

Excellent result. Have two critics. More items like a table, remote, magazines ect.. and the lighting of the ceiling and wall should be in shadow if it is lit by the sun. Great looking render though.

      Hi..

First of all, I’m a bit lazy.
Second, I like to see some floor. I know it’s a bit empty but I like it that way. Just a matter of personal taste.

      About the light.
I don’t know yet what is causing that but I will find it and fix it.

      Thank you for the critique.

    Hey,

nice Render :) I like the mood in the room. The only thing is that it is a little bit too bright over the TV. But overall it look great!

Yes.. It seems the over lighting is the problem..
Will wait for some more comments and fix it!

      Thank you Dirkhi!

Good job. I read your lazy comment and I feel that I too am lazy and like all my projects are half done if that. lol
But anyays my critiques take it for what it is just a opinion, add some kind of blinds or curtains around the sliding door. Add a casing(search door casing profiles) around the door also.
Add crown molding from the cieling to wall. Heres a link to some crown molding profiles but you can search for some its pretty easy to add and adds a lot of detail.
    http://www.tiloindustries.com/profiles/crown_profiles_21.html
Maybe get some quckie models from blendswap(and credit them for a fast way of adding items) and add em to the top shelf above the tv plants or statues or something.
    Keep it up cya
