This is beautiful! The modeling on the sofa is impressive. Any resources that show how to achieve something like the sofa?

Do you have a hard time with translucent material being noisy?

Superb texturing. What kind of products would you use this scene for?

I love the lighting in this scene! This is one of the best I’ve seen as far as realism, fantastic job!

The sofa looks very, very good. I’d say it’s finished but I think you have to work on the environment a little bit. I don’t like the wall texture (too plain and uniform) and the carpet looks cheap.
Did you thing about putting this sofa somewhere in the library with shelves full of books or putting a figured wallpaper on the wall?
Anyway the sofa is top notch.

    Hi all,

many thanks for kind words, and thanks to Blender Cookie for featuring the image!

@Shane Smith – It’s a mix of standard modeling and sculpting for tiny wrinkles, i don’t have a deep tutorial about it, but you can check the WIP thread on BlenderArtist, hope it helps! About the translucent, it’s hard to remove noise, but not that much, i didn’t use so many samples for this render atm.

@Rafal Sietnik – Thanks! Yes books should fit well the image, and about the wall I agree. For my other image “Those days” i used displace modifier and it seems it’s better.

Thanks a lot again guys. Keep blending.

Really beautiful – how did you achieve the furry rug edge in cycles?

holy $#@#. sofas… they haunt me. I must acheive this level of scene. Beautiful render. I remember some furniture in the BA forums from long ago that also haunt me. Such fantastic renders.
