Amsterdam Coat of Arms

I used Gimp + Inkscape to convert and import into Blender, Uv’d and textured in Gimp +
Rendered in Blenders new Render Engine- Cycles.

    This is what I’m needing help with. I imported the svg file and it be came a curve. Then I converted it to a mesh. The problem I’m having is that it is has a High poly count. 2252502! Yeah. Maybe you can help me with this problem.

    Mine too, when imported, it was crazy polycount.. maybe the cookie masters can give some light on it :)
