CG Cookie has upgraded to a new custom gallery system which will provide more of a community experience while viewing the gallery and site. We’ve been able to cram in a few more features on the tail end of this update that I would like to take you through.
Updated Style

First and foremost, the gallery and user dashboard have been given a facelift. We felt the previous style of the gallery was already showing its age and so we spent a while on the design to make everything cleaner, easier to read, simpler to navigate, and all around easier on the eyes.
Previous/Next Image Browsing

Perhaps the most requested feature, when browsing the gallery you can now navigate to the previous or next image in the gallery right from the image page.
Following / Followers

Twitter started this trend and it turns out it is a good trend to follow
You can now follow other users work, to be notified when they post new images. This is a great way to view updates from your favorite artists on the network.
Expanded Profiles

Each member of CG Cookie now has an enhanced profile page to showcase their artwork per site which include social links and information about them. The goal of this page is to provide a landing page to showcase your artwork to friends, family and businesses. From this page you have the ability to view image states, view users you’re following and those followers of your work.
Badges
Another part of the expanded profiles is a full badge system! Users will now receive badges for various things, such as being a Citizen member, winning a contest and others. A full list of the available badges will be coming soon!
Newsletter Sign-up
It’s now easier than ever to sign up for our various CG Cookie network newsletters. You may now manage your newsletter subscription straight from your user dashboard on CG Cookie.
Love an Image

If you see an image you love, you can let the author know by clicking the heart icon below the image.
Upload image status
Authors now have the ability to mark an image as in-progress or finished during the upload process. This will help direct the type of comments and feedback the author is looking to receive.
Expanded Control Panel

The side control panel has received an upgrade as well. You will now receive updates from users that you’re following and there is a new tab for your favorite images.
We are certain there are a few lingering bugs on the site. If you happen to find some please be sure to send us an e-mail to [email protected]. Thank you again for hanging with us on the site!

Seems alot of stuff is broke atm, but Im sure you all will get it fixed. They will be nice features when done.
just reload the page Or delete temps
seems so to me too. lots of little errors on the page
Wow, Nice update guys XD
Wish you all the best..
congrats.
Congrats to your efforts & new structure. But for my needs way too much floating intro video, we all know to navigate, much better to highlight your new stuff and offers only, showing new possibilities.
Anyways, best blender site no doubt, best wishes for further and tx for all your good offers!
Always exciting to get upgrades – thanks!
If anyone is seeing the layout a bit jumbled up then make sure to hit CTRL+F5 (not just F5) to do a full refresh. Some of the old site can be cached locally on your machine and this will clear it out. When I logged in, the site was a bit all over the place and CTRL+F5 did the trick to fix it!
Thanks guys – Anxious to see the profile pages come online with main images and such.
I love the changes, site looks odd in chrome though o.0
Try refreshing a few times. Your cache may be causing problems.
set the z-index for the menu
YouTube Videos are overlapping the Menu (atleast in Chrome)
Not overlapping any more
Thanks for the heads up.
-Jonathan
It’s back, it was working fine for a day after your replay, but now it’s overlapping again.
Love the new site. Where’s the little heart so I can check it.
Wes, I see Johnathan has a Author hat. You should have a Boss hat or El Dictator for Life hat.
On a separate note, I’d love to see a Google+ link to go along with Facebook and Twitter. Profiles are displaying as a big “list” in Chrome, pushing all the images below the page footer. I refreshed a couple of times and they still display funny. Firefox works great.
Scratch that. A couple more refreshes and pages display correctly.
Is very good this new site… Congratulation
Great new features, thanks guys!
The new site is great. but it’s not working very well for me thoe. I guess thoes errors I’m getting time to time will get fixed eventually. But still great
Hi Christian,
Try refreshing your browser a few times. It likely a caching problem.
-Jonathan
thanks for the suggestion it works a bit easyer to day
for “internet explorer 9″ your site looks ok but for “chrome 19″ it looks seperated and a little slow… i mostly use chrome
Thank you for letting us know. So far any layout issues have been solved by clearing out cookies, cache.. logging out and back in. If this doesn’t work, and you are able to take a screen shot and e-mail us at [email protected] will take a look a it!
I use Chrome here as well, and on a couple pages I did have to hit refresh to have things pop in. Hope this helps!
you are right!
Ctrl+Shift+Del -> Erase all cache
boom! worked!
(ps:
i have been working on web programming (php, asp, asp.net) and web design (html, css, js) for over 10 years, shame on me…
)
I kinda missed the “Recent Submissions” side widget…
Can you add it again?
I would like to see a feature where I can “Bookmark” a tutorial and I can go there on my profile and look at all of the tuts I want to watch. I know I could bookmark them in my browser, but it would be easier if I could just do one click on the page.
Are you thinking of having a “favorites” type widget on your profile public page?
You can favorite a tutorial within the site now though, but maybe not fully to what you are suggesting.
When on a tutorial there are blue buttons below the video which allow to favorite. Open up your side control panel or visit your favorites in your account dashboard.
Oh! That’s exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
