In this Blender 2.6 tutorial, we finish the modeling of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer that we started in the first part. After the modeling is complete, we proceed to add seams, unwrap the UV coordinates, and then go on to paint the texture map using the Texture Paint tools.

I don’t know why but everytime I click download source files of Rudolph part 2, “blender_citizen_modeling_highpoly_car_part02.zip” appears instead.

Hi David, loving the tut series!

However, whenever I come to UV unwrapping everything goes fine except for the antlers. I follow what you do to the letter but for some reason the antlers on the UVs are just tiny little dots in the middle of the head and I can’t figure out why. Is the key to just look over the seams etc etc or is there like a button I can press that will sort it out for me?

    Thanks!

I’d look over the seams; sometimes I miss an edge somewhere, and it messes up the unwrap process. So just make sure your seams perform a full loop, and they should unwrap properly.

I was thinking. What if I extrude the four legs the same way one would extrude the arms of a human, first out than down, similar to Jonathan’s Female body series base mesh.

For some reason the eyes will not render. Even if I delete the materials, textures and lattice.
Yes they are on the same layer as the raindeer.

Is the camera icon enabled in the outliner for the eyes? This sets it to either show or hide at render time.

    Awesome Tutorial right here!
I was doing good until I went to texture paint. My Rudolph did not gain the checkered pattern and gains a white shade instead. Do I need to check my settings or am I supposed to check the seams?
