Welcome to another Citizen Friday.. Each Friday we are working to produce Citizen content. If you’re not a Citizen, no worries and no need to draw a picture of a monster eating sheep. This isn’t affecting the amount of free tutorials/content to hit the site on a weekly basis. Basically we are just working harder. Of course you are welcome to sign-up today to get access to this exclusive and many more.

Note: due to the upcoming Holiday here in the States, there will not be a Exclusive next Friday, November 25th. However, we will be back on Monday with new tutorials!

For this week’s Citizen content here on Blender Cookie we’re giving up a read-to-render plastic drink bottle for Cycles! This model is fully prepared, including the label and shaders for rendering, all you need to do is drop in your own label and hit render. This resource can be used for anything, personal or commercial, so long as you attribute back to CG Cookie. Enjoy!

Basic instructions for modifying the label are included with the download.

Note:This scene requires a recent development version of Blender, that includes Cycles, in order to render. You can download builds from http://graphicall.org

      n1 tutorial
      btw
is there any chance you will still cover “blender render” tutorials in the future
or will there be the big swap to cycles.
I still think the good old internal has some decent features.

and you should eat ALOT of turkey
you apear so thin on all the pictures ;D

As far as I’m away the cycles ones are blooming at the moment just because cycles is soon to be released officially.

Apparentely there are going to be some more LuxRender and a lot more Internal tuts and files as well in te near future :)

Great job, congratulations on the marriage Jonathan. Oh, before I forget you know what would be cool to learn is the basics of home design like room decorating I think it would be a worth while watch/page/ebook-thing.

It’s a development feature for blender that will be released in the next version. Basically it uses real world physics to create real material simulations rather than faking them which is what the Blender Internal Engine does. In short it makes very realistic scenes and renders :D

Hello Jonathan, I have a question for you.
I have to model a bottle of vermouth, the glass has carved heraldry (as many bottles of whiskey have), what is the best technique to model it in a realistic way? I’ve tried using a bump map but does not work so well. (i’m using cycles).
    thanks
I forgot, I’m Fulvio from Turin (Italy)

You can sculpt in the details and use object space normal mapping from those details to get really nice results
