Price Drop on Vehicle and 2010 Blender Training Series.

The Blender Vehicle Training Series and our 2010 Blender Training Series have been in the CG Cookie Library for some time now and have been humbly well received by the community. But with the new Low Poly Training series recently released and others planned, we wanted to make some room on the CG Cookie shelves. Plus with the holidays approaching…why not right?

So as of today we’ve dropped the prices of the Vehicle Modeling Series and the 2010 Character series permanently! We are also reinstating the bundle for these two products and now offering a “whole library” bundle option to the site in efforts to get the training series in more hands.

New Prices:

2010 Blender Training Series:

This is still arguably the largest series we have done and a great starting place for any aspiring Blender Generalists or Character Artists. With just over 23 hours of video education. Part 1 gets you ramped up on Blender itself, while Part 2 takes you deeper into the Blender vortex of character creation knowledge. Read more about this Series

Make sure you have prepped your Internet if you choose all digital downloads. ;) Since we don’t have a fancy shop which allows bundling, we have created these guys here.

Does Digital version means it will be available for download after purchasing? if so, what will be the total size of Kara+Vehicle?

    Thanks!
    I love your site!

      Hi Shai,

Yep that’s exactly what digital means! After purchasing you’ll receive a download link for the entire series. If I remember right the download is about 20 gigs, but it is broken up into about 800-1000mb files, served from a CDN service. We encourage only downloading one part at a time. It’s a lot to download but also a lot of training!

Is there going to be an option to bundle LowPoly+Vehicle? I had already purchased Kara previously.

I bought the kara when it came out, same with vehicle training(august)… possible to get a discount for the low poly? Perhaps the remainder of the vehicle + low poly price?

This looks really good. I have a question about the Low Poly Character tutorials. I notice that the character has a huge beak mask. Does the tutorial show how to model the lips or the rest of the face?

And finally, I checked out the page and some of the status is “In progress”. Are the videos complete or do we have to wait for a download? This is the page I went to http://cgcookie.com/training-series/low-poly-character/

Well got to the Modeling 2-4 for the Kara 2010,
        over the weekend.

by thw way 2-4 through 2-6 seem to be out of order.
was watching the vids and it looks like it should go 2-6,
2-4,2-5 I know it probably could be done in any order I did it 2-6 then 2-4 just so it looked the same, and I realy wanted to get the head back on the body. Having fun with this. I have not picked up a 3D Program since 1998 and that was Rhino3D.

Well doing some diging and testing setting and found a work around, don’t know if it’s a Blender 2.61 problem or not but the array to curve did not work, if you set it to count but still have the curve modifier for it to fallow it works. Hope if anyone else has this problem this helps.

Hi there, if I remember right I was using Blender 2.58 at the time of the Lowpoly series. The current version is Blender 2.61 but everything in the Lowpoly series is still completely relevant :)

Hi jonathan just recently started this tutorial but one thing I noticed upon using the blender 2.61 version is that the empty was missing on the pull down list.

I just found out that my blender tends to open my old project files automatically and I just deleted all of it thats why I cant see the empty on the list so I clicked the reset to default on blender 2.61 and the empty shows on the drop down selection.

Ok I asked for help, But found work arounds for things I was having problems with. now I realy need help. I am still working on the 2010 training. I do not know how to fix somthing I messed up with the model. texturing scale is off and invers… as in I have to set things to – when jonathan has it +. such as if the seting is .400 I have to set it -.04 to get it to look correct. I tryed ctrl-A to set rot-scale but that make the thing explode in all directions and just go crazy. I am on my way to that point myself. I like what I have and would prefer not having to start over. how do I get help on this. One more thing don’t know if I need to download 2.59 or not to get this but I am using 2.61 and when adding the rig for Kara I only get one option and it looks very deferent the the one shown.

      Hi Jeffrey,

The best place to go for help with any of our training series is to email support@cgcookie.com

This will submit a support ticket to our system that allows us to easily track and solve it. If you could, please just be sure to include as much information as you can. Screenshots in particular are very helpful when trying to diagnos problems :)
