This two-part Citizen Exclusive tutorial series takes you through how to create a simple animation between Baker and Evil Baker.

In part 02 of this tutorial series, I show you how to duplicate your character so that he/she has something to interact with; and then we also go in and see how to Append a character from a different file and have them interact with Baker. We go on to see how you can apply the Pose Library from one character to another, and then we go about “interacting” the two characters together, dodging and trading punches and kicks. After that, I show you a bit on how to make the Camera movement more intense by adding some “shakiness” with a Noise Modifier.

To download this tutorial please log into your citizen account here, or join the ranks today. Remember that being a citizen member not only gives you access to periodic exclusive tutorials, but access to our complete source library from Max Cookie, Modo Cookie and Blender Cookie. Normally 4USD a piece.

Thank you for the support and more education is on the way!

Because BC is their full time job.
If it wasn’t you’d get way less tutorials then you do now.

And there is already a lot of free stuff here.
Think about the precious time each instructor spends to provide us some valuable tutorials ;)

Yeah, maybe Dave or the other BC guys could tell the crowd just exactly how much time and effort it takes to produce a video tutorial (or a series) like this. I’m guessing it’s a LOT more than the lenght of the video;) Hope you guys get satisfactorily compensated for!

Once everything is said and done, including prep work, recording, editing, uploading, and publishing each tutorial part probably takes about 4-6 hours. Sometimes as much as 10. Obviously it depends largely on the length of the tutorial.

I bet it takes several takes on one video.
And you have to redo everything you did over and over again….

Citizen is realy cheap when you compare it to a lot of other training. 25 bucks for 3 months is a great deal, and it doesn’t have to be recurring. I’d highly reccomend giving it a try- plus you’re supporting the Blender communuty by funding future tutorials.

Internet does not mean FREE, don’t forget they pay for the domain name, the hosting, and they don’t get any money from any advertising, so I can tell that we can be thanksfull for the free content they give to us, more or less..

How bout you put in hours of talking, editing, thinking up the best way to present a QUALITY video tutorial. Then pay for the domain to put up that tutorial. Aaaaand crank out out more than one a month. All for virtually free. I can’t wait to be able to get a citizen membership to show my appreciation for what these guys are doing for a FREE 3D program.

Seriously guys, just about everyday I look on here there’s a new detailed tutorial, tip etc. Thanks, for everything.

You don’t need a pay pal account to pay. They just use Pay pal to process the credit card transactions.

    Expensive?

Compare a BC citizenship to ONE Evermotion tutorial and you will find that it is at least 20 times as expensive…

This is a note to Dave Ward -
if you want to select all the keys on a frame in the dope sheet – instead of box select – alt click on the frame .

I put together a quick tutorial to help you out – explanation of the keystrokes begins at about 5 minutes, 30 seconds in…

    Hey David,
The “K” key also selects all of the keyframes in the column of the keyframes you have selected. I like your teaching style, since you make the same mistakes that most of us are going to and you show us how to fix the issues from them. I hate edited/scrpited tutorials because if you ever get hung up you don’t know how to work around it. Thanks again for the great tutorials.

David Ward, you are the man!! This animation series absolutely rocks! I registered with CG Cookie as a Citizen mainly because of Baker, and I would have paid a lot more for it. Please ignore the minority within the Blender community that want everything for free. We are not all like that and most of us are willing to pay for quality training like this.

    Hi Dave

My name is Joe, I ve been woking with blender since 2.0 version. I love it. My hope is for a future in animation. I have all the Baker work / tutorials. Great stuff. One question,,,,where do you get the audio files? I have two audio editing programs and I still can not duplicate the voice. I would love it if you could post something on that.

    Thanks
    Joe

      Hi warren,

No need to post the same question multiple places ;) We see every comment that comes through and do our best to answer each and every one.

You can import actions from another file by going to File > Append > myfile.blend/Actions/myaction

      Cheers,
      Jonathan
