In this lesson, I go over the Facial Rig more indepth, and explain how the Face Rig controlls the shapekeys, rather than deforming the mesh (as the Body Rig does). I then go in and walk through creating more shapkeys (and bones) and set up drivers to control them.

Hi David. Is there any way to reconnect the drivers to the shape keys after the fact without first deleting them? This new version of Blender 2.59.3 seems to have disconnected the driver bones. Even if I re-choose the driver, it does not want to connect. I guess this is a good chance to learn from the bottom up, eh?
Sounds like the ol’ FCurve issue that came with one of the newer releases here a few months ago. Try going up to Help, FCurve/Driver Version Fix:
