Present Time 2010!

Happy Holidays!

Today I was walking outside to get the news paper in my trusty blender jammies, (wife loves these) and almost tripped over this present left on the doors steps of the CG Cookie Headquarters. (Okay, not really I just made that up, however… )

Jonathan, David and I wanted to say a huge thank you for a fantastic humbling year from the Blender Cookie crew. It has been quite a year with the release of 2.5, attending the Blender Conference, Sintel on the big screen and continuing down our journey to provide more and more Blender Video Tutorials.

As in Holiday tradition we wanted to give a little back to the daily visitors of Blender Cookie and our CG Cookie network. Without the support of you guys I would be able to sleep on the train, and watch reruns of Tom & Jerry. So thank you and here is a little present under our tree for you. But you may only look at it; you can’t shake it, or feel how heavy it is. (It’s a digital thing)

But you can mark it on your calendar to come back here and open it up on December 25th! A bit after midnight (-6GMT) we will open up the download for the present for you to open and see what is inside, and then you can post back here to the world what we got you for the holiday.

So click on the download link and open up the present. The file size is right around 255MB and feel free to tease others on what you got in the comments or blab on what it is. Thanks again guys and talk to yah after the new year! After the new year we will post the contents out for the public to see.

    I am a Database/network admin and 3d gives me an outlet to chill out on when i need a break from the daily norm of programming etc… I use to rock 3ds max back in the day but i find blender to be absolutely amazing! I could not have migrated over to blender with out the help from you guys again thank you for all the great tuts!

    Wow, the Baker animation was amazing, very pro stuff! Although the character could have more work, too simply for my taste.

    Woah thanks a mile for these cool presents.
    I love that TRON effect tutorial and the Baker interview.
    But i especially lov3ed the cool textures and the Reference Images. I assume that these are pictures from NYC. They are really cool and moody, gotta love the TRANE sticker and all that cool industrial feel of some pictures. Wonder who took those, great job there.

        Oh lol, i fail at identifying places :D …shoulda zoomed in on the newspaper box to find chicago tribune and such.
        Guess i got kinda confused with the ‘cta green line to harlem- brown line’ sign at the trainstation stairset.

    Wow, quite heavy present… but worth it!

    I noticed that Jonathan had some problems with the anti-aliasing in the “Tron tutorial”. Instead of setting the samples to 16, you may check “Full Sample” this solves most anti-aliasing problems, and helps a lot during the post processing.
