In this Citizen exclusive Blender 2.5 video tutorial series, we go through a hard-surface modeling exercise by creating a highly detailed M4 assault rifle.

In part 7 of this modeling series we fix a couple problems in the previous mesh and continue detailing the symmetrical parts of the body.

very nice jonathan, looking forward to the final result also quite excited about the upcoming vehicle series :) hope to hear more about it in the near future :D

on a side note could you do a quick tut or a comment post on how to do a render that displays your wire frame /topology, i think you did one before in like 2.46 or something and was just wondering if there was a better way to do it in 2.5

This part of a Citizen Exclusive tutorial series that comes along as a perk to being a member :) If this is of interest to you there’s more info here: http://cgcookiecitizen.com/

If not then there’s still plenty free tutorials to keep you occupied :)

I wanted to make a model of a gun for a game and became a member just for this tutorial. After noticing the poly count is way to high for a game I still can’t wait to finish the tutorial.Because of your 2010 training series and this I am going to be a member for a while and has sparked allot of new interests for me,not just games.I cannot believe after trying to find tutorials that I just now found the cookie.Because of this tutorial I decided that the training series would be a good investment and is.I am having more fun trying these tutorials than playing the games I was wanting to make models for.Its kinda nice to have no experience with blender and now making a model with 100,000 faces or more,I do have to go back and redo some of it because I upgraded to the new 2.56 beta and for some reason I cannot find my gun anymore, after restarting I got through I think the first 2 parts without watching the tutorial, something I did not think I could do but your a good teacher.I think I might have applied some of the modifiers wrong though or I have to rearrange the array modifier so I gotta make sure and check the tutorial again.Normally I would get frustrated but am having allot of fun.I would recommend being a member to anybody that is wanting to learn, its well worth it.
