That’s a great tip! I have seen it before, but tend to forget that it exist, and in stead hunt around in the interface for the command I’m looking for. I will try hard to remember, and use, the space bar meny from now on, though.

That is a helpful tip. Nice to be able to add something to the scene with spacebar like I am used to, but was just getting used to using shift+A.

That is just WAY better than the default setting, plus i don’t have to do stupid “shift+a” anymore.
    Thanks for that!
It’s funny that it’s actually an improved version of what was in blender already(2.49).

Great tool, maybe it’s possible to combine the two quick menus in one menu.
Instead of putting a search button, you can put a search textfield. The moment you type a word in the textfield it replace the menu with the search content. It’s just an idea.

I never could get used to Shift-A after using the spacebar for so many years. And now it’s new and improved! Thanks for pointing this out, Jonathan.

Currently I have no Blender here but does double-tapping spacebar bring you directly to the search menu? I guess it would because this menu still shows spacebar as the hotkey for the search menu. If it doesn’t this would definitely be worth a feature request.

No it doesn’t. I like the idea someone else mentioned of having the search entry in the dynamic menu being a actual search field.

That’s indeed a pity. But yeah, as I said this would be worth filing a feature request. The idea of having a search field directly on this menu instead of double-tapping spacebar sounds even better. Then as soon as you start typing the rest of this menu has to disappear for showing the search results.
To avoid confusion the word “spacebar” as command for the search field should of course vanish from the menu.

A quick question if someone know… how do you add an avatar picture you the comment? I can’t find it anywhere, and when I was logged as citizen I couldn’t find it either.

Very cool! It reminds me of Wings3D, where all main context sensitive operations are shoved into a right click menu, so you don’t need to look for where the button is on the UI, or have to remember the shortcut key.

I’m 3DS and Maya user. I still miss the quad menu.

    However this is really neat.

There’s a bug in this addon, when you hit File > New you have to untick and retick it in User Preferences for it to work again. Bug has been reported.

This doesn’t work for me. I enabled the add on and I still get the search box when I hit the space bar.

Sadly the plug-in doesn’t seem work if you have the may preset or a 3ds preset activated? Dose somebody have an idea how a navigation preset and this plug-in can be run simultaneously?

Why isn’t this the standard… or why did it ever change? This is so much better than shift A.
