In this quick Blender 2.5 video tip we demonstrate how to make use of Blender’s render slots for comparing changes in your renders. This is very helpful while tweaking a scene.

    Nice Tip!
Not sure if I am doing this right, though. I used slots 1,2 just to test this out. I first loaded my image to slot 1. Then I went and messed with the fall off in the Ambient Occlusion section. Loaded the new image into slot 2, but it seems my second render in slot 2 overwrote slot 1 with a low res render of the second render; If that makes any sense. LOL . I even did this with slot 3 and the same results happen in slots 1 and 2. Is there something messed up in my render settings? Maybe the overwrite check box? I will test it out.

Same result in slot 4. It loaded up my new render just fine in slot 4 but also loaded the slot 4 render in 1,2,and 3, but at a low res copies. This would be very handy if i can get it to work.

That is a fantastic feature and I wish that I had watched this video before completing my last project. Would have save me a bit of time. Thanks for sharing!

This is a great tip. I saw the feature in Blender, but didn’t know how to use it. I never guessed it would be so easy!

    Useful tip.
Besides render slots, is there no way to have render “profiles”, that would remember all render settings?

I really like this feature… That said, has anyone figured out how to do side-by-side comparisons of different renders using “Slots” to avoid saving mulitple images?

That’s what I love about the devs, they are always adding useful things like that.
It would be kinda cool if i could some how use the mouse scroll button to scroll through multiple renders. perhaps hovering over the slot dropdown box and scrolling.
