Pretty interesting topology review, I’m really impress by the way that the hand connect with the wrist without using extra edge loops. The diamond technique seems very useful in many ways.
A topology review about the shoulder could be welcome
Yes!! That’s great, and I really need it! Time to install 2.5 FOR REAL now…
Now what I’m still missing are the shape keys to animate this properly in the extreme positions
Fully closed, the hand gains volume, which doesn’t work with simple weight painting, except if we put in extra bones, but I guess that would be way more complicated, or am I wrong?
Thanks a lot for that very interesting topology review Jonathan. It greatly helps understanding how everything works. Of course I am looking forward to a foot topology overview and more… Keep up the good work.
Bernard
I always find it interesting that you somehow seem to know what I’m working on and then present a related tutorial
How do you do it?
Definitely downloading this one. @Jonathan–I’ve never seen a hand topology quite like this one. Did you figure this out completely on your own?
I swear you can hear him fart at 4:30 LOL… Give him a hand!!! Nice out =)
Is that a six edged pole I see……
Extremely helpful series! I noticed this trend when I started to view the “stylized dragon” and “coffee cup” modeling tutorials – this helped me quite a bit in understanding the concept of topology. Now, to practice!
Thank you
