I put my computer to test again and had it grind a few more sky panoramic textures out for the community. By far the most downloaded free resource on the Cg Cookie network with over 4200 downloads, we felt it deserved a sequel.
This next set of sky images are focused on dusk, and cloudy scenarios and were rendered out on my trusty IMAC with bootcamp. roughly 5-8hrs per render. Darn 3D clouds…
Or you may view the first installment here.
These images were created with Dreamscape from Afterworks, a 3D Studio Max Plugin. But don’t fret, these are .tgas and work great with any software package.
But if you are a Blender user we have also put together this tip to help get you started.
Enjoy!

Perfect! Those sky textures have come in handy so much. I never knew they were 3d renders though. That could be my ignorance, but I thought they were images stuck together and touched-up. Maybe a tutorial on how to make clouds like these? I think it would be useful for other things such as smoke, dust and the likes.
many thank-you’s!
@wehrdo–they’re made with a 3DS Max plugin, read the post

thank you for this photo
These are awesome, both sets in fact… I really hope there will be more… Maybe a night sky, or high noon?
Anyways, thanks for these awesome sky textures…
Really wish tehre was a Maya version of this Plug-in… Oh well…
Thanks for both sets Wes
Seems that was a long process to render it out.
how can i creat my own textures >:D
Take pictures and load into photoshop ^_^
I am particularly partial to the second one from the top. It reminds me of moments after we’d had some banging summer storms along the US coast bordering the Gulf of Mexico…clouds breaking up to reveal the previously veiled sunlight. To me, that one is the most realistic. Thanks for your hard work, time, and your generosity.
this textures really will make my models looks real in real world, thanks guys
I’m gonna donlowad this RIGHT NOW.
More, please?
Thanks for the elements, i’m learning how to use Unity and stuff like this is really helpful.
