Guys, first of all, I am sorry for my poor english.

Actually the above is not totally right when you're on mac. I found that it will happene after a major upgrade, for example 2.53 to 2.54
we need to go /Users/....your account...../Library/Application Support/Blender/2.53/config/ to copy all files, bookmarks.txt, recent-files.txt & startup.blend into folder 2.54 next to folder 2.53.

Happy Blending on Mac!

Thanks

No problem, Wes. I'm sorry to drag things off-topic. You're all doing a great job here, and I thought it was funny "Resveratrol Supplements" had made it through the cracks. Go ahead and delete this comment and my previous one if you like now that the offensive post is gone.

Hahah man, thanks for speaking up!. We have over 2000 comments rolling in here and some do slip through. I will promptly hit the anti-spam robot with hammer for you. Though I am sure they were valuable supplements we all can use.. hah ;)

Hold on mods! I expected to see my reply mocking this spammer deleted, but I'm very much surprised to see the spam left untouched! "Resveratrol supplements"? Did you not click the link on the name? It can't be this easy to spam these boards, can it?

Some advice, please:
I still have not installed 2.5 as it's not recommended yet. David does his tutorials in 2.5, the others mostly in 2.49 - could we either just all wait for 2.6 until the 2.5 training series will be released or should we all switch to 2.5 now, even though it's not fully functional yet? Or should we just run both versions? :D
I'm sure that for newbies consistency might be important - I can adjust and so do many others, but it might throw people who start with Blender off a bit.

@ JONATHAN WILLIAMSON

Looks like this only needs to be done when using blender for the Windows OS.
When working with Blender for MacOS X you always get the same user-defined settings which is stored in a central location, no matter what version of Blender you use.
This should be mentioned in your tip-video.

i think you could simply load the old .B.blend via File/open and disable "load UI". Then save user settings.
