Most tutorials don't teach you anything worthwile. They make you a one-trick pony, if you will.

This one definately helped me TONS, and I use almost the same edgeflow for faces now, with a few changes. I have slightly more polygons, and the ring around the eyes over the bridge of the nose (the 'goggle' edgeloop).

Thank you so much! :D

You know your stuff Jonathan Williamson!! A pleasure to watch. Your advices include studying as much of the work of others as possible - towards mastery of topology as elemental in this topic; I would say that your own tutorial work should be a first port of call with many return visits (technique tutorials-wise). I am new to computerised modelling but have a history in real world, physical construction and the transition to virtual modelling is made much easier by your well schooled work. The same satisfactions exist in mastery of all techniques of any discipline, consequently, the requirement of patience must sometimes be stretched into one of perspicacity. You demonstrate well these things in your tutorials and reference videos. Full marks with distinction!!

Jonathan, and what about the interior of the mouth? I haven't found much about this part of the body very much (in topological sense). Is it possible for you to submit even a single image showing good topology of teeth, tounge etc? I find it very difficult to even think of modelling it without any reference.
