In this tip, I show you how to use the mask modifier, and how it can be used to prevent intersections of meshes; like skin going through clothing items.

This one is great! I really like tutorials on new features or how to use existing ones that are not that popular, because blender has huge amount of things in it, but only Ton knows them all. =D

    Nice tip, David.

Quick question, if I may: How much of your Blender time is in 2.5 now?

I’m not surprised really. The rule is to only tinker with Alphas and Betas. Though it is tempting to just use the latest builds, isn’t it. :)

    Hey, David!
Nice feature, i wonder if blender 2.49 has one, but the case is following. What if i want to make a half-transparent costume/shell whatever? The partly masking is not helpful this case.
    Thanks in advance.

i suppose you’d have to tinker with the “shrinkwrap” modifier for something like that.

    Hello, nice tutorial
But at 21:30 where you are making the lace I miss how you duplicate (normally I use shift D) and snap it.
Played it back several times but cant hear it.

not sure which tutorial you’re referring to; this one is only about 4 minutes long, you mentioned 21:30

Really cool and handy! I’d like to apply that one to my own belly, but I guess I’m still 2.49 :P
Anyway, I hope, the appropriate version of 2.5 will be released soon so I can catch up with the 2.5 training series :D

Cool little modifiers here. Way better than deleting the selected vertices or moving them to another layer.

@Maria- Yeah not the good tutorial, you should go there : Creating an Axe Part 1

Dude! That is Freakin’ Great!!! My boss made me 86 a project that I was working on, because of that same issue with the body peeking through the cloth. Please let me know if you are ever down in the Virgin Islands. I have a case of Cruzan Rum with your name on it!!!

    Awesome!!!
    Thanks
