This is the last part in the Pup Tent tutorial. In this part, we’ll be applying procedural textures for the different aspects of the tent, and then we’ll use a paint application to extract a background image for our scene. Back in Blender, we’ll create a ground area and also use Blender’s particles system to create grass. Finally, we’ll create render layers and use Blender’s compositing nodes to color correct things before doing a final render.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad it was helpful. I was a little bit concerned about the pace, but I think it’s fine for intermediate level users.

Enjoyed the second part just as much as the first one. Applying a texture on grass instead of color ramps, the rope texturing idea etc… Very nice, very educational. Thank you.

Both parts of this tutorial were really great. To me the green grass in the foreground and the dead grass in the background seem to make it hard to keep the final render from having a “cutout” effect. Maybe it could be solved by applying some DOF and blurring of the background image.

The grass creation was most informative. I haven’t had much experience with using the hair settings. Keep up the good work!

I loved this tutorial, and I used it to make grass, but I can’t figure out how to make less dense grass cast a shadow. Is it possible? Because I’m really confused. Thanks.

  12. First of all I must say I was a bit difficult at the time of passing this tutorial to version 2.59. Especially the particle system. But you’re ready …
Not present it to the node system because it takes a lot to render it. (my pc is somewhat obsolete).
How long it takes to make this store? Without the timelapse mode.
