Say hello to Blender Cookie
Blender Cookie is a site dedicated to supplying consistent, high quality, blender education materials produced by certified trainers from around the globe. By offering high resolution streaming videos, written education, developer interviews and featured resources, we aim to be the central hub for blender education.
Blender Cookie was birthed from the community of CG Cookie. CG Cookie was originally started to show case various software education. Just one year after the conception of CG Cookie, blender became the most prodominate software on the site. So much in fact it was responsible for over 50% of the daily traffic.
Listening to this we created Blender Cookie.
We hug Certified Instructors
In our efforts to provide effective and consistent training, Blender Cookie’s training is authored by Blender Foundation Certified Instructors. We feel this is important when taking on the responsibility to provide education for such an exponentially evolving, viable 3D open source solution.

On Cg Cookie you had to click and read the post and then click the post to read the page that contained the video. Believe it or not this was not intentional to obtain more clicks. We were able to solve this formatting issue with Blender Cookie’s CMS, and will be migrating this back to Cg Cookie in the near future.
What do we have planned for this site.
We were so anxious to get the site in front of you, that what we are presenting is the foundation or platform. We have a few features and sections that we are still boarding up and will be added on soon. If anything we prepared Blender Cookie to accept growth.
- Consistent, clear postings of blender training from our certified instructors
- Offer free community content such as models, textures or reference photos
- Continued support of foundation and further development of blender
- More exclusives, more bundles, more site features
Our hopes and dreams.
Of course when we start a new project we have some pie in the sky ideas on where we would like to see it go, but in reality we can only set up a few bumpers and nudge it from time to time.
- To represent Blender Cookie at world-wide blender events and gatherings.
- To have a office building in the city where we can pear out at the lake while sipping energy drinks
- To become a positive discussion topic at Blender gatherings.
Whats going to happen to the posts on CG Cookie?
Over the next few days we will be working to create custom redirects from CG Cookie to the specific posts here on Blender Cookie. So you shouldn’t have to update your bookmarks on specific tutorials, unless you want to feel all up to date. We will still be featuring some of the activity here from Blender Cookie back on CG Cookie to ensure Blender is still showcased on CG Cookie.

yes yes, I know, you are very busy, just wanted to ask. great work so far!
We are still tossing around some ideas in regards to this. Over the next month we will be testing out and pushing a lot of new features. We will keep you all updated!
21st birthday yesterday, and BlenderCookie today. What a great week. Can’t wait for some new tutorials.
