The loop cut tool in Blender allows you to very quickly, and easily place new edgeloops into a mesh. It is particularly handle for adding detail and refining a mesh.

    Three thumbs-up on this one! I was watching it “ho hum, to see if I’d learn anything new that I didn’t already know about,” and … wham, bam, thank ‘ye ma’am … I learned about TWO fee-churs that I didn’t know existed. :)

    And BTW, very promptly used them. Sweet!
